Postscripts
Finished off Number 4 in the Postscripts series last night. Overall there were a few stories that weren't for me, however I did enjoy 3 (not including the intereview with Richard Prather) in the publication. And in anyone's book, that's value for money.
The final story was The Cell by Zoran Zivkovic, which unsurprisingly was set in a prison cell and had nothing to do with the Jennifer Lopez film of the same name. PS Publishing have a collection of stories coming out as "Impossible Stories" in the near future. On the basis of The Cell, I do have to experience more from Zoran. The story once finished, had you going back through the final pages just to work it out and let it sink in. Great stuff.
I suppose the big talking point today was about the News Of The World's entrapment of the England manager. I don't read that "publication" (which is also known as News of the Screws) as, well, its rubbish. However here it is revealing an exclusive story, completely of its own making. I do have sympathy for Sven as he was led on, and in the ups and downs of football management, who wouldn't have been tempted? Yet what is terrible is an English paper doing this to the England manager a few months before a World Cup.
I don't think there is anything the popular press won't do to get a story. The Sunday Mail yesterday had a lead article on the fact that alcohol is cheaper than bottled water and no wonder we're a nation of heavy drinkers. This from the paper (along with its sister publication) that regularly has drink voucher offers and advertises such products.
